Alright, we are talking about off road trails near Fremont, California.  Last Warning, the off road trails mentioned are Jeep trails and 4x4 trails large/wide enough to fit a passenger vehicle - no ATVs or dirtbikes talked about here.  The first off road trail near Fremont, California is Hollister Hills SVRA located 56 miles south of Fremont. This off road trail for Jeeps, trucks, and 4x4s is located in Hollister, CA. You can see what other wheelers are saying about Hollister Hills SVRA and other trails by visiting the Where2Wheel trails map here.

The next offroad trail near Fremont, California is Pichacho Peak located 100 miles south of Fremont. This trail is located in the Clear Creek Management Area, a 50,000-acre OHV park managed by the Hollister Field Office of the BLM. The park includes fun roads for stock SUVs and has many excellent ATV and dirt bike trails. Many old cinnabar mines (an ore used to make mercury) are scattered around the park but most are off limits for safety reasons. Narrow, steep and rocky with tight, scratchy brush. The worst sections are best done with lockers, but these sections can be bypassed. Hot and dusty in the summer. During wet periods, the park may be closed because roads become impassable. Best time to go is late fall and early spring when soil is moist but not wet. Route-finding is complex. Watch for rattlesnakes in the dry months. Stay on designated routes. Reminder, you can browse the offroad trails map anytime for free on Where2Wheel.  There is a good chance that since writing this article that new off road trails near Fremont, California have been added, so click here to view the W2W map and check the area for yourself.

The last offroad trail near Fremont, California is Prairie City SVRA located 143 miles northeast of Fremont. There are flat, open grasslands, rolling hills with native blue oak trees, and acres of cobbled mine tailings left after gold dredges combed ancient river beds in search of gold during the late 1800s. Beginners as well as experts find the variety of terrain both challenging and enjoyable. Prairie City SVRA takes its name from the gold rush community that was located just northeast of the present-day park. Today, the only reminders of that 1850s community are some old mine tailings and a historical marker, California Historical Landmark #464, which is located at the intersection of Prairie City Road and U.S. 50.  Don't forget to visit the Where2Wheel off road trails map to see all the off road trails near Fremont, California.  We also have a great community of offroaders on W2W, so be sure to check out the news feed and groups sections of Where2Wheel as well.
