Vehicles driving on East Beach, as well as camping vehicles, require a Barrier Beach Pass. 2. All camping units MUST BE self contained AND equipped with 4 wheel drive. Incredible view! Don't get stuck!

Checked this out and it's an awesome view. Make sure you air your tires down to 15-18 psi and stay in the tire tracks or else you risk driving into some really soft sand and getting stuck. If you get stuck and can't dig yourself out you can call Bradford Motors at 401-330-8348 / 401-640-2920 and he has a big machine on tracks that will pull you out, but it costs $500 (but this is still better than if the DEM catches you w/o a permit which can cost $2k I've been told). Here's a PDF with details about the trail: http://www.crmc.ri.gov/offroadvehicles/BeachesTrails_RegsInfo.pdf

Read the FULL description. $200 permit required to get access. Pretty important information. I found this out when I visited.
