In order to keep the offroad community up to date with the latest and most accurate wheeling information, we have created an offroad trails map that covers the entire USA.  The trails map on Where2Wheel is powered by the offroad community and is totally reliant on individual offroaders contributing their knowledge to keep the map up to date and accurate.  So if you do go wheeling on any of these trails, make sure to leave a review on W2W, or make any adjustments to the trail descriptions as needed since trail conditions can, and often do, change frequently.

Alright, we were talking about offroad trails near Macon, Georgia.  Again, last warning, we are talking about Jeep trails and 4×4 trails that are large/wide enough to fit a passenger vehicle – no ATVs or dirtbikes talked about here.  Okay, so here’s the rundown about offroad trails near Macon, GA if you want to keep your drive within an hour of Macon, you have two options: NE or SW.  If you don’t mind driving a bit further or just want to take a look at the map and see what other trails are out there, click here to view the Where2Wheel trails map.

The nearest offroad trail, or rather offroad trails, to Macon, GA is about 40 miles (45 minute drive) northeast of Macon.  This offroad spot to the northeast is an offroad park called RiverRock; RiverRock was made famous by Peterson’s 4×4 magazine and the Ultimate Adventure tour that visits the best offroading spots in North America.  At RiverRock you can expect true GA wheeling, that means wooded trails, muddy hill climbs, lots of orange clay mud pits, and the occassional rock garden to play in.  RiverRock currently has their hours listed as Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, but it’s best to check their site here to make sure those hours haven’t changed before planning your wheeling trip.  Remember, you can view trail reviews and browse the offroad trails map on Where2Wheel.com at anytime – W2W is free to access and use!

The next closest offroad trail near Macon, GA is the Taylor County Boondocks located 50 miles SW of Macon in Butler, GA.  This is a mud park that has been featured on Trucks Gone Wild, and their park description does say that they have trail riding if mud bogging isn’t your thing.  However, I’d like to hear from someone that has visited here about how much trail riding they do actually have.  Either way, if you’re a mud pit kind of guy then this is the park for you.  One thing to keep in mind about Taylor County Boondocks is that it is not a family oriented park, so think twice before bringing the little ones out because it can turn into a party out at Taylor County Boondocks.  If you are curious about their operating hours and event dates, just check their site here.  Lastly,  if you’re looking for more offroad options, there are many more Jeep trails and 4×4 trails listed on Where2Wheel, but it’s easier if you visit W2W and view the offroad trails map for yourself.
