HopkinsI had to do some googling to figure out what a 22r engine was. Since its a small 4 cylinder your only gonna get so much power out of it anyways. Even the turbocharged 22r from the factory is rated at only 135hp. I would be spending my money on gearing or a v8 swap rather than trying to squeeze more power out of your 4 banger. I think gearing would be a more effective way to gain additional power. Have you looked into a transfer case doubler? That would give you all the low end power you could need9 years ago
metalman_1979I already have dualed t-cases and 5.29s in the diffs im just looking for a little more right foot when i need it and a v8 swap is out to hard on the wallet i was considering dropping the inline 6 out of my 83 supra in it but im sorta wanting to build that too instead of killing it im also looking into a 20r/22r hybrid ive been reading threads about guys getting 185 horse power and 220 foot pounds of torque out of that emgine but its a lot of work9 years ago
HopkinsHaha so your already geared to the MAX. Don't kill the Supra, that is another cool ride. The hybrid sounds like it would make some good power if you wanna put that much work into it. Looks like it is either cam and headers or forced induction would get you some good power also. Any direction you go there is some wrench time in your future if you wanna see a significant addition of power to the 22r. Do a google search on STS turbo. It's a remote turbo set up that requires minimal work. They have universal kits or you could prob put your own version together for less.9 years ago
