WJGrandCherokee I just moved up to the area recently, so I have not gone wheeling anywhere in Maine or NH. There are a few trails on the map on this website, but I do not know anything about them. 1 month ago

WJGrandCherokee There is Jericho Mountain in NH but that i believe is an all day trail. It costs $20 and you need Winch, larger tires and other mods according to the website. I still want to do it one of these days 1 month ago

On my way to Cape Cod now. Any recommendations for an easy and fun trail down there? Stock wk2 with leveling kit.

Wk2 Thanks for all that info WJGRANDCHEROKEE. I Wasn't thinking of driving on the beach but I'll check the beach overland thing, sounds like it'll be cool. I hear that are some dirt roads down there for some overlanding. Someone told me about this trail at Punkhorn, I just don't know exactly where. 1 month ago

I have a CB installed, not too many people use CB anymore. I think the range is better. Clarity has to go to GMRS. Plus handheld pre-set radios like midlands are fine for short distance communications.

Still looking to wheel tomorrow if anyone is free. Let me know.

Drtoddbiz Sorry I missed your message, where are you near? 1 month ago

Out on the trail which communication format do you prefer?

New England Overland

Looking to go wheelin either this Saturday or Sunday (August 7th or 8th).
Anyone interested?
Somewhere in Maine or New Hampshire. I dont know of many trails so I was going to check out some that are posted here on Where2Wheel. There is a trail in Acton ME i would like to try.

amski Oh man, I just came back from NH, went from NJ all the way up to White Mountain area. Made a mistake trusting ON X app. I think it's mostly for small ATVs, so I got put on ugly trails. I see there's a nice spot in Clifton, ME, namely Chick Hill.. 1 month ago

WJGrandCherokee It seems that most people only find out about trails through word of mouth if you know someone who knows someone, or by joining clubs. The clubs tend to use private land though so they are not public trails. 1 month ago

So I got some calls and a couple emails from some people and I ended up talking to one guy who has a 12,000lb winch he can put on his atv since his full size tow rigs won’t fit on the trail and we’re gonna head up there tomorrow afternoon and see what we can do. He sounds very knowledgeable in off-road recovery. If he and I aren’t able to get it done I have a friend driving up from Virginia with his Jeep which has a 12,000lb winch. I appreciate all of the help and advice I’ve been receiving!

Can you give a re-cap of how everything ended up for you? Thanks

I heard back from one of the tow companies and he can not get his wrecker up the trail that I’m on because it’s technically a snowmobile trail where I turned off the main trail. He’s gonna reach out to some people who might have a Jeep or something equivalent but I haven’t found anyone who can really help. I’m heading back to South East Vermont in a friends car and I’m gonna keep looking for people with a capable vehicle. Things aren’t looking great but I’m trying to stay optimistic!

Yeah I figured it would probably cost a couple hundred at least because of the location and time it will take. Hopefully you get help soon.

I’m a little far from the 2nd place but they directed me to Benny’s towing and repair which is closer. Benny’s said they can get me out but it’ll be expensive. However they also gave me contact information for a guy in the area who goes wheeling a lot and has friends in the area. I left a message with the local guy and I’m just waiting to hear back. If I don’t hear back from him I will call Bennys back and go from there.

The second contact place I gave you is an hour away but I think they will be the more capable for the job. Let me know how it goes.
